Abby: Chapatti

Now I bet some of you are looking at my title and going cha-what? Chapatti is a flat-bread sort of thing and I think my mom makes some of the best. Today I made some with her and here are some pics: [from Mom: I can't get the pictures to go in the order I want... The order is that we make the dough, roll it thin, cook it, then spread a little bit of oil on top.]
Flipping it after bubbles form...
Rolling out the dough...

Waiting for the other side to cook...

Spreading the finished hot chapatti with a few drops of a mixture of oil and ghee (clarified butter) to keep the moisture in and to add flavor!
Today was kind of a tough day because it's hard to think that in a few days we'll be back in the States, but then we're gonna be stuck back here again! I really hate being hot (but unfortunately there's a good reason that that's what most people think as soon as they hear the word India) and it's pretty hard missing people you've left behind. The one thing I have to look forward to is getting a dog in June or July. I've heard that they help you to get used to a new place. Can't wait to be able to go back to the States even if it's only for a month.
